The Profile Property Page allows you to view, manage, and customize user attributes used for segmentation and personalization. Follow this guide to effectively navigate and utilize the page’s features.

1. Overview of the Property Table

The page includes a table displaying all profile properties. Each row represents a property and contains the following columns:

  • Property: The name of the attribute (e.g., Name, Phone Number, Email, Age).

  • Data Type: The type of data associated with the property (e.g., Text, Number, Boolean, Date).

  • Property Type: Indicates whether the property is a Primary attribute (default system-defined) or a Custom attribute (user-defined).

  • Edit Button: Available only for Custom properties. Allows you to modify the property details.


2. Editing Properties

Editable vs. Non-Editable Properties

  • Primary Properties: Includes Name, Phone Number, and Email. These are system-defined and cannot be edited.

  • Custom Properties: User-defined attributes (e.g., Age, Preferences) that can be edited as needed.

How to Edit Custom Properties

  1. Locate the custom property you want to edit in the table.

  2. Click the Edit Button in the property’s row.

  3. Modify the Property Name in the pop-up or side panel.

  4. Save your changes. The updated property will appear in the table.

3. Adding a New Custom Property

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Click the Add Property button at the top of the page.

  2. In the pop-up or side panel, fill in the following fields:

    • Property Name: Enter a unique and descriptive name for the property.

    • Data Type: Select the appropriate data type (Text, Number, Boolean, Date) from the dropdown menu.

  3. Confirm by clicking the Save button.

  4. The new property will now appear in the table under the Custom property type.


Tips for Managing Profile Properties

  • Add Relevant Custom Properties: Create attributes that align with your audience segmentation and personalization goals (e.g., Purchase History, Membership Level).

  • Review and Update Regularly: Periodically review custom properties to ensure they remain relevant and accurate.

  • Leverage Data Types: Use appropriate data types to optimize the data structure for analytics and campaign customization.
